These are very innovative aspects of the modern research on volcanoes and are also becoming used in assessing the various hazards related to volcanic activity. The book is organized into three sections (“Fundamentals”, “Magma migration to the surface” and “The regional perspective”), consisting of thirteen theoretical and practical chapters that are lavishly illustrated. Emphasis is also given on how volcano-tectonic processes may impact volcanic unrest and eruption forecast. The readership includes any academic from the upper undergraduate level and anyone directly or indirectly involved with volcanoes.
