图书简介
The book contains self-contained descriptions of existing models, accompanied by critical analyses of their properties both from a theoretical and practical standpoint. It aims to develop ’modeling skills’ within the reader, giving them the ability to develop their own models and improve existing ones. Written in connection with a full, open source Python Library, this project also enables readers to run the simulations discussed within the text. As a relatively new research area, crowd motion modeling is continually developing. Using a mathematical perspective, Crowds in Equations presents a systematic investigation of paradoxical phenomena, such as the Faster is Slower effect, to bring new understanding to complex issues. Key Features: oThis book has been written in connection with a software development project: the authors of the book have developed a full Python Library (called Cromosim) which will be released shortly oThe open source project will make it possible to readers to run the simulations described on the book, to test new configurations, and even to investigate the possibility to improve the basic models ("do-it yourself" feature)
